Coventry College is looking for an inspiring and experienced Curriculum Leader for Science and Access to Higher Education to join our dedicated team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our learners.
As Curriculum Leader, you will lead specific pathways across our Science and Access to HE provisions, ensuring the delivery of an outstanding quality of education. You’ll be instrumental in driving learner success, satisfaction, and progression, while supporting the professional growth of your team.
About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of qualifications within the Science and Access to HE curriculum area.
• Ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment, fostering an engaging and inclusive environment.
• Monitoring learner progress and outcomes, implementing strategies to achieve and maintain outstanding results.
• Supporting curriculum planning, resource allocation, and quality assurance processes.
• Teaching key units within the BTEC Science qualifications, including:
o Unit 7: Contemporary Issues in Science
o Unit 6: Investigative Project
o Unit 12: Diseases and Infection
o Unit 4: Laboratory Techniques and their Application
About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed professional who:
• Holds a degree (or equivalent) in a Science-related subject, and a Level 2 qualification in English & Maths.
• Has a proven track record of delivering BTEC qualifications with strong learner outcomes.
• Is experienced in curriculum leadership or ready to take the next step into a leadership role.
• Ideally has knowledge of Access to Higher Education programmes and experience delivering T-levels.
• Demonstrates excellent organisational, communication, and team leadership skills.
You should also be able to demonstrate:
• Expertise in Science education, including delivering BTEC qualifications and a solid understanding of Access to Higher Education programmes.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing team.
• A commitment to learner success, with a proven track record of improving learner outcomes and satisfaction.
• Innovative curriculum planning, ensuring teaching strategies are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with sector developments, including T-level delivery.
