About the Role
Purpose
To design, deliver, coach and assess high-quality Teaching Assistant training programmes, supporting learners to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for successful achievement and progression. The role combines engaging training delivery with robust assessment practices, ensuring learners receive effective support, guidance and feedback throughout their learning journey. The postholder will work collaboratively with employers, colleagues and stakeholders to maintain high standards of teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance while contributing to curriculum development and business growth.
Profile Summary
Teaching Assistant Trainer/Assessor
An enthusiastic and learner-centred professional responsible for training and assessing Teaching Assistant qualifications across a range of levels and delivery models. The role involves planning and facilitating high-quality learning, conducting assessments, coaching and mentoring learners, monitoring progress and achievement, and ensuring compliance with awarding organisation and quality standards. The Trainer/Assessor will inspire and motivate learners to achieve their goals while developing strong employer relationships and contributing to continuous improvement within the Commercial Skills provision.
Requirements
Must-Have:
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• A1 or TAQA Level 3 equivalent
• Level 2 qualification in English or Maths
• Experience working in a related environment
• Experience of Assessing in the Workplace
• Experience in teaching/training
• Ability to train and coach across a range of Teaching Assistant qualifications and levels
• Thorough knowledge of current qualification specifications in subject area
• Knowledge of relevant vocational environments
• Ability to promote Coventry Colleges portfolio of qualifications
• Theoretical and practical knowledge to teach a range of topics within specified subject area
• Ability to use effectively within own teaching practice a range of teaching and learning methods, including Assessment for Learning, Blended Learning and Information Learning Technology
Nice-to-Have:
• Relevant teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards within a specified timescale
• IT Qualification
• TAQA Level 4 or Equivalent
• Experience of employer engagement
• Experience of teaching a range of learners from 16-19 years and adults from a wide range of social and ethnic backgrounds
